Inward Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

Inward Wellbeing PBC, a Delaware public benefit corporation operating in California, operates inward.org and check.inward.org. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, request a reading, apply for coaching, join a waitlist or group, attend a session, or contact us.

By using our website or services, you acknowledge this policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure it describes to the extent permitted by applicable law. We obtain separate consent when the law requires it. Your Terms of Service, the supplemental AI Terms, and our Disclosure address the service relationship and the limits of our guidance. This Privacy Policy controls how we handle personal information if another document says something different.

We use personal information to provide your service, support you, and improve our work. That includes reviewing client information to improve our reading engine and methods. We do not provide your private birth details, intake answers, readings, or session content to advertisers for targeting. Publishing an identifiable client story requires separate written permission.

1. Information we collect

Personal information means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you.

We collect information from you, from people who submit your birth details for a reading, from service providers supporting a purchase or session, and through use of our website. We also create information when we prepare readings and work with clients.

InformationExamples and sources
Contact informationYour name and email, and other contact details you choose to provide in an application, order, or message.
Birth informationBirth date, birth time, and birth city submitted by a client for their own reading or a reading about another person.
Intake and application answersWhat matters to you, what keeps happening, what you want to understand or change, and what you have already tried. A Helm application also asks for your company and role.
Reading and coaching informationCharts, readings, timing maps, interpretations about patterns and timing, session notes, goals, feedback, corrections, and events or outcomes you confirm.
Session contentWhat you choose to share in a reading, coaching session, or group. This may include audio, video, transcripts, and summaries when a session is recorded with consent.
Purchase informationServices purchased, amount paid, payment status, refunds, and information needed to reconcile an order. Stripe processes payment details. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
Communications and permissionsMessages you send us, support requests, communication preferences, and records of consent or testimonial permission.
Website informationPages visited, interactions, browser and device information, IP address, approximate location, and cookie or similar identifiers collected through our hosting and analytics services.

Your intake or session may include private information about relationships, family, health, finances, beliefs, or work. Share what is relevant to the service. Do not send passwords, government identification numbers, or full financial-account details.

Some of this information, such as details about health or religious beliefs, may qualify as sensitive personal information under applicable law. Where the law requires consent for a particular use of that information, we obtain it before that use.

An interpretation in a reading is information we create about you. It is not a verified fact or a clinical diagnosis. AI systems and people can make mistakes, so interpretations and summaries may contain errors even after human review. Section 8 explains how to request correction of inaccurate personal information.

2. How we use information

We use the relevant information above to:

  • Receive and assess applications, manage waitlists, and communicate about the service you requested.
  • Generate charts, prepare and deliver readings and timing maps, and connect them to your chosen focus.
  • Arrange and deliver sessions, coaching, and group support.
  • Process payments, provide support, correct errors, and handle refunds.
  • Review quality, train our team, and improve our interpretation engine, prompts, methods, materials, and services.
  • Send service messages, such as delivery, scheduling, billing, or policy notices.
  • Send marketing when you have agreed to receive it. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.
  • If you save your email with a sample result and then start but do not finish checkout, we may send you one email with a link back, about 24 hours after the checkout expires. You can unsubscribe from it at any time.
  • Understand website use, measure and improve marketing as disclosed in Section 6, fix errors, and protect our services.
  • Keep required records, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

You can decline optional information. Missing information needed for a reading or another service may prevent us from providing it; we will explain what is needed.

3. Birth details, AI, and improving our work

Preparing your service. We use the submitted birth date, birth time, and birth city to create the chart and its interpretations. We treat these details as accurate and do not independently verify birth records. We cannot prepare a report without your birth time, within about two hours. Your intake answers help us apply the reading to the question or situation you bring. We use AI and other software to prepare written material, and may use AI to transcribe or summarize a session with consent.

Who can see your information. Authorized Inward team members may access your birth details, the answers you give us, your report, and any feedback you send, when needed to deliver your report, answer your questions, or fix a problem.

Improving our work. We also use client information, including birth details, reports, the answers you give us, any session notes, and your feedback, to check our work and improve our methods. This can include comparing a report with your feedback, finding and fixing mistakes, refining the rules and prompts we use, and improving how we explain a pattern. This is an additional use beyond delivering your individual order.

Internal improvement does not give us permission to publish your story or send your private report or session notes to advertisers.

AI providers. Outside providers may process the birth details, intake, drafts, feedback, or recorded content needed for the task they perform. Their access is part of providing and supporting our services. It is separate from publishing your information.

The input license in our Terms and AI Terms does not override this policy, applicable consent requirements, or privacy rights. Permission for Inward to improve its methods is separate from whether an outside provider may use client content to train its own models. Our AI Terms apply to AI-assisted preparation as well as any AI interaction you have with us; using AI does not make your report or session notes public.

4. Recordings, groups, and client stories

We record group and coaching sessions for service delivery, quality review, team training, and improvement of our services and reading engine. A private reading may also be recorded when disclosed for that session.

We ask for consent before recording or activating an AI transcription assistant. We also inform and seek consent from anyone who joins after recording has started. Tell us before your session if you do not want to be recorded so we can discuss available options.

Authorized team members and the providers that host, transcribe, or analyze recordings may access that content for these purposes. We do not publish recordings, use them in marketing, or provide them to other clients without separate written permission from the people whose information would be disclosed.

In a group, other participants can hear what you share and see information displayed in the session. Our group rules require confidentiality, but we cannot control every participant’s actions.

We ask for separate written permission before publishing an identifiable client story, name, photograph, recording excerpt, or testimonial. Joining a service, giving private feedback, or accepting our Terms is not that permission.

5. Who receives information

We disclose information to the people and services needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Our authorized team and practitioners, including people preparing, reviewing, or delivering your service.
  • Hosting, storage, and website providers, to run the site and keep service records.
  • AI, transcription, video, and scheduling providers, to prepare materials and support sessions.
  • Stripe and other payment services identified at checkout, to process payments and related requests.
  • Email and communication providers, to deliver readings, service messages, and communications you request.
  • Analytics and any active advertising providers, for the website uses described in Section 6.
  • Professional advisers, when needed for accounting, legal matters, or another legitimate business obligation.

Providers receive the information needed for their role. We require appropriate confidentiality and data-handling restrictions for providers processing client content on our behalf. A provider may also handle some information for its own legal or service obligations under its privacy notice, such as when it processes your payment.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or our systems, to respond to lawful requests, or to establish or defend legal claims. Information may also be transferred in a business sale or reorganization, subject to applicable law and notice of any material change in how it will be used.

Buying a gift does not give the purchaser access to the recipient’s intake, reading, or session. We share those only at the recipient’s direction or as otherwise permitted by law.

Independent websites. Our website and materials may link to websites or services operated by others. Their privacy notices govern information they collect independently. This policy continues to apply to Inward’s own handling and disclosure of your information, including our use of providers acting on our behalf.

6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. The information can include page views, interactions, browser and device details, approximate location, and cookie identifiers. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google and other providers may receive information directly when your browser connects to their services.

Our websites, including check.inward.org, also use the Meta pixel to measure and improve our advertising. For the same purpose, our servers send events to Meta through its Conversions API. The information can include page views, interactions, browser and device details, IP address, and cookie or similar identifiers. When you give us your email or make a purchase, our servers also send Meta a hashed copy of your email address, which Meta can match to a Meta account, and the page address. For a purchase, they also send a hashed visit identifier and the purchase amount and currency. Meta may use cookies to distinguish browsers. Meta may receive information directly when your browser connects to its services.

On check.inward.org and the check on inward.org/patterns, we use Microsoft Clarity to record how visitors scroll, tap and move through the pages, so we can improve the site. Everything you type, including birth details, names, email and answers, is hidden from these recordings. Clarity uses cookies to tell visits apart, and Microsoft may set its own cookie. Microsoft processes this data for us, and we do not use the recordings for advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies can affect some website functions. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We do not sell personal information for money. Your birth details, private intake answers, readings, recordings, and session content are not provided to advertisers for targeting or audience building. If website information is disclosed for cross-context behavioral advertising, that disclosure may count as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under an applicable privacy law even when no money changes hands. The Meta paragraph above describes that activity. Section 8 lists the right to opt out where the law provides it.

You can also contact support@inward.org about your privacy choices. An email request does not replace browser-based controls or automatic opt-out handling when the law requires them.

7. How long we keep information

Retention depends on the information and why it is needed. We consider whether we are delivering an active service, continuing agreed work with you, handling a support issue, reviewing quality, or meeting a legal or recordkeeping obligation. An ongoing account is not required to request deletion.

InformationRetention criteria
Applications and waitlist informationTime needed to assess the request, communicate with you, and manage the waitlist or application.
Birth details, intake, charts, readings, and coaching notesTime needed to provide and support your service, maintain relevant client history, and carry out the disclosed quality and improvement work.
Recordings, transcripts, and summariesTime needed for the disclosed session, quality, training, or improvement purpose, with a retention period set separately from the rest of your client history.
Purchase and legal recordsTime needed for tax, accounting, dispute, and other legal obligations.
Website and analytics informationThe periods set for the relevant hosting, analytics, or advertising system, based on the purpose for collecting it.

When information is no longer needed for a disclosed purpose, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable. A deletion request may be subject to legal exceptions. Backup copies may remain until their scheduled deletion and are not used for ordinary business activity during that period.

8. Your choices and privacy requests

Wherever you live, you can email support@inward.org to ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You do not need an account. We may need to verify your identity without asking for more information than is reasonably necessary.

Access. You can ask what information we hold and request a copy. We may protect another person’s information or confidential material where the law permits.

Correction. You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information, including factual errors in a chart, reading, or session record. Labeling a document as our work product does not remove your privacy rights. Disagreeing with an interpretation does not by itself require a different interpretation, but we will consider the request and applicable rights.

Deletion. You can ask us to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions. We address relevant copies used for internal improvement and instruct our service providers to act where required. We explain a permitted reason for retaining information when we decline part of a request.

Marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or email us. We may still send messages needed to deliver a purchased service or meet a legal obligation.

Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent for a use of your personal information, you can withdraw it using the control provided for that purpose or by emailing support@inward.org. We will explain what this means for any service in progress. Withdrawal does not undo processing already completed lawfully or require deletion of records we must retain by law.

Additional legal rights. Depending on your location and which laws apply to Inward, you may have rights to:

  • Learn which categories of recipients or specific third parties received personal information, as required by applicable law.
  • Obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable, usable format.
  • Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, or limit certain uses of sensitive information.
  • Opt out of certain profiling or automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects. Where the law provides, you may also question a covered decision, receive an explanation, review and correct the information used, or request reevaluation.
  • Use an authorized agent or a legally authorized representative to make a request.
  • Appeal a decision about a privacy request.

We honor applicable rights and explain how to exercise them. We do not penalize you for exercising a protected right, although deleting information required for a service can prevent us from completing that service.

We respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any permitted extension. If you disagree with a decision, reply to our response or email support@inward.org with the subject “Privacy appeal.” If we deny an appeal, we provide the explanation and regulator contact information required by applicable law. You may also contact the privacy regulator or attorney general responsible for your location.

9. Security and where information is processed

We use safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, including secure connections and access limited to the people who need information for their work. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. We provide breach notices when required by law.

Our providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires a safeguard for an international transfer, we use an appropriate safeguard.

10. Information about children and other people

Our services are intended for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly accept a child as a user or collect information directly from a child. Contact support@inward.org if you believe a child has provided information directly so we can review and address it.

An adult client may submit birth details about another person, including a family member or child. We proceed on the understanding that those details were shared with the client. We rely on the submission and do not independently verify how the client obtained them. The protections in this policy apply to that information too.

Submitting someone’s birth details does not authorize us to record that person or publish their identifiable story. Those permissions are handled separately.

11. Changes and contact

We update the effective date when this policy changes. For a material change, we provide notice on our website or directly, as appropriate, before the change takes effect. Your continued use after the revised policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the policy and consent to the processing it describes to the extent permitted by applicable law. If a new use requires separate consent, we ask for it before that use begins. Changes do not remove applicable privacy rights or provide permission to publish private content without the separate permission described in Section 4.
